nLite allows you to customize your installation of Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows 2003. You can integrate service packs and hotfixes from Microsoft directly into your windows distribution files without having to re-download and install them every time you need to re-install windows.

I still use nLite to inject the newest Intel Rapid Storage driver (iaStor.sys) into the Windows XP source files from an original ISO, then build a brand new ISO. I do this because from time to time I run into error 0x7B blue screen problems when installing Windows XP on brand new computer models (such as the Dell Latitude E6420 or OptiPlex 790). 0x7B means that Windows cannot communicate with the hard disk drive correctly. Usually, all that is needed is the newest SATA storage driver. But if you get the 0x7B blue screen, you have to re-image the comptuer all over again.
